Efficient and convenient measuring means online transfer of measured values from the measuring device. The QMSOFT® system therefore provides a powerful software component under the term QMSOFT®/QM-DeviceServer that ensures communication between the local or a terminal server-supported computer platform and all commercially available measuring devices. The connection between the measuring device and the computer hardware takes place via serial or USB connections or via special PC interface technology (Heidenhain IK220 or EIB 741, Steinwald box, prodasafe G4.5). The QMSOFT®/QM-DeviceServer program, in conjunction with appropriate hardware components, is also suitable as a stand-alone solution for retrofitting older length measuring devices from various manufacturers. The program works with all QMSOFT® test programs and serves as a device-neutral source of measured values. Compensation for device errors (scale correction via correction factor and correction table, temperature compensation for scale, setting standard and test specimen) is possible.
